Yoni Eggs + healing
sexual trauma

My Experience

A couple years ago, I was incredibly disconnected from my power and my body. I had years of sexual and emotional trauma bombarding my every thought. My past experiences were heavily influencing my actions and lifestyle. For a long time, I held a lot of shame around what I was experiencing. I felt disconnected, alone, and as though I was never going to embrace my womanhood to its full potential.

It wasn’t until I hit rock bottom so fucking hard (ie overly emotional, physical numbness, no desire to live) that I started looking for alternatives outside of talk therapy to help me FEEL something, FEEL anything. Luckily, at the time, I had already begun a consistent yoga practice. After witnessing and experiencing the benefits that yoga gave me access too, I decided to keep my research for healing my sexuality on the more holistic side of town.

Through tantra, I came across the yoni egg. Which is an ancient tool that women would use to connect themselves to their vagina.

It was here that I learned the magnitude of the power I possess, we all possess, between our legs.

Trauma in the Body

The muscles in your body store an emotional and energetic imprint of your memories and past experiences. In order for it to protection itself, our body will shut down and create tension in our muscular system, creating blocks or a sense of disconnection within ourselves.

The vagina, especially, is incredibly receptive to the energy that it has had enter it, in either a physical or an emotional way. Our canal holds the memory of past lovers, it is aware of the relationship we feel towards ourselves, and also holds on to the left-over stagnant energy from our abuser(s).

Your vagina is constantly in communication with you. When your yoni begins to show signs of numbness, pain, and/or dryness, she is doing so in efforts to prevent any further pain or abandonment to happen again.  Therefore, for many women after experiencing sexual assault, it may be difficult for them to connect back into our bodies, or even their yonis. Subconsciously, resistance becomes present within our wombs that we may or may not be aware of. Our mind and bodies will create a series of coping mechanism to, once again, protect us from experiencing pain and/or abandonment. This disconnection that you may be feeling in your body, should be perceived as a way your body has chosen to protect you.

Forms of

Subconscious Protection:

  • Lack of sex drive
  • Hyper-sexuality
  • Vaginal numbness
  • Vaginal discomfort/pain
  • Vaginal Dryness
  • Disconnection From Yourselves and/or Your Power. –Unhealthy Relationship with Your Body
  • Rigid/Porous Boundaries
  • Inability to Trust Yourself or Others
  • Attached to Relationships

How the Jade Egg Helps

How the Jade Egg Helps

How the Jade Egg Helps

Adding a yoni egg practice in to your self-care routine is going to help you unlock the stored energy and emotional tension that your vaginal muscles are holding on to. Beginning this practice is like receiving an invitation to love yourself again. When the egg enters you, it is stimulating the vaginal muscles, whether you are able to feel it in the beginning or not. Through the egg gently massaging your canal, your body is going to gain more awareness in to that area of the body. Jade, which is the crystal in which it is made out of, holds a lot of powerful energy from both the sunlight and the earth. Crystals are an excellent tool for grounding. The energy that comes from the Jade crystal is in correspondence to your Heart. With the vibration of this crystal, it increases loving and nurturing qualities within us. It is also a crystal used to protect you from harm, whether it be internal or external threats. The Jade crystal will assist in transmuting negative-feeling energy into a sensation within you that is more open and receptive.

Knowing that you are using an egg inside of your yoni that it holds so much power and capabilities itself, it only feels right using it for yourself as well.

Jade Egg & Healing Ritual

Jade Egg & Ritual Healing

When you begin this practice, take some time to get yourself comfortable in your environment. Think of your self-pleasure practice as a sacred ceremony for you to connect to yourself. Take a shower, light some candles, get some coconut oil, wear something that makes you feel beautiful. The purpose of this is that you want to be able to connect to your femininity. You want to feel safe and receptive in your body and within your surroundings so you can calm and appease your central nervous system.

From there, take some time to breathe and settle in to your body. Get some coconut oil so you can gently and mindfully begin to bring awareness in to your physical being. Touch the toes, your calves, your hips, your breasts, your shoulders. Connect to your Yoni by massaging your inner thighs, your outer labia, caress your inner labia – Get some blood flow and awareness in this region of the body before getting to your clitoris and your vagina.

Once you feel as though your Yoni and you are warmed up, put your egg in your palm and set an intention. With either lube, coconut oil, or your own natural lubrication, begin to insert the yoni egg very mindfully, small portion of it down. With clean hands, inserting the egg about 2 inches into your canal to decrease chances of it slipping out.

It’s completely normal if you don’t feel the egg inside of you. This is more about connecting to the essence of yourself more than anything. I want you to begin to visualize the energy from the crystal beginning to simmer into your vagina. Feel the energy of your love, your patience, and your intention becoming a part of your most intimate area.

You are reclaiming your body!

As you start to feel more comfortable, begin to add some breath-to-movement into your ritual. Find a pelvic floor technique (exercise) that you are feeling called to that assists in you contracting and releasing the muscles in your vagina. As you inhale, visualize your desires, your healing, your peace, your strength, etc. entering in through your canal. Continue to inhale and visualize it lifting itself up into your heart and through your heart to reach the crown of your head. As you exhale, very mindfully with control, release the pelvic floor muscles and visualize all of that energy cleansing you. As your breath blows out, it is sending the stagnant energy out of your body and in to the Earth. Do this exercise repeatedly, creating a cycle of breath and intention with your vaginal muscles and yoni egg.

When you feel the connection deepen, begin to move your hips and circles – contracting and releasing the muscles, still connecting to breath. Imagine yourself creating a vortex of energy with your yoni, moving yourself clock-wise and counter-clockwise. As your body begins to loosen and open up, allow your spine, shoulders, neck, jaw – entire body – begin to move with you. As you dance, you are taking up space. You are reclaiming your body!

When you engage and release these muscles in your yoni, you are going to be  activating all of energy and emotions that have been stored there. Emotions may begin to come up for you. Emotions are energy in motion. So witness them as they rise in the body. Express them! Thank them for presenting themselves to you during this transformative and intimate time! Release them! If you feel anger, shame, disgust – all I want you to do is simply notice it. Breathe through the energy that is wanting to leave your yoni. I invite you to cry, to scream, to kick if you need to. Embodying your emotions, instead of suppressing them, will help you connect to your body. When you express the entire spectrum of emotions you encounter, your heard will feel heard. Your body will feel safe and secure, because your body will have you to listen to it.

You may even laugh during a time like this. Emotions and energy sometimes how up in unpredictable ways. Honor your body, and once again, express it all. If you feel nothing – and I mean absolutely nothing – that’s okay, too! Take your time connecting to your breath and to your movement. Keep your mind and your heart open, your body may need some extra love to thaw and de-armor itself.

When you are done with your ritual, remove the egg. You can do this by squatting down and pushing out, sitting on a toilet and pushing helps too. If you have a drilled egg and tied a string to it, you can simply pull the string out. Make sure to clean your egg after each use. Also, make sure to charge the crystal by putting it in the sunlight and beneath the full moon.

Thank your body, Thank yourself, Thank your intention for this powerful practice you have begun. Healing is a transformative journey. You are strong, you are righteous. You deserve clarity and to feel safe in your body!

Consistency
is the lock.
Love and intention
is the key!

Write yourself a love letter before you begin your practice, telling yourself your intentions and how proud you are of yourself.

This will assist you greatly, when/if some uncomfortable emotions rise during your ritual.
